Art can be defined in various ways. It is the application of a certain knowledge using a set of skills, such as “martial arts” or “culinary arts.” Perhaps the more familiar definition of the term would be a skill used to produce an aesthetic result such as the art of painting or the art of sculpture. The facets of art are endless.
Historically, art has existed since the beginning of mankind. Early civilizations such as Ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia developed their own distinctive art forms through various methods such as cave paintings and hieroglyphics.
Art has been imperative to the survival of man and have played key roles in the development of communication, religion, government and even commerce.
